To receive Deepam TV broadcast signals, your satellite dish must be positioned correctly towards the Eutelsat Hotbird 4 satellite which is located at 13°(degrees) East. To receive this signal the dish must be aligned by tilt as well as elevation and azimuth.

This technical requirement makes the installation more complex. We strongly recommend that you have it professionally installed by Deepam TV agents or by an approved installer.

If you've Eutelsat Hotbird satellite system already at home then you can subscribe to Deepam TV.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Eutelsat satellites are "parked" approximately 22,300 miles above the equator. In reality, the satellites travel from west to east, but to us on Earth they appear stationary because they match the exact speed of the Earth's rotation. (This is a geostationary orbit also known as Clarke's belt) If you stand up now, turn towards the southern hemisphere, and tilt your head up to the heavens, you'll be looking in the general direction of Eutelsat satellites.

Azimuth
Determining the Elevation and Azimuth
To aim your satellite System dish at the Eutelsat satellites, you need to know your azimuth and elevation coordinates. Azimuth is defined as the horizontal direction expressed as the angular distance between the direction of your dish and the direction of our satellites. More simply, azimuth relates to the left-to-right positioning of your dish. Elevation is the angular distance of our satellites above the horizon in relation to your dish. In other words, elevation concerns the up-and-down positioning of your dish.

Sideview
Your system receiver is programmed to give you these coordinates and help point your dish to the right spot. You’ll find this assistance in the on-screen Setup Menu. The menus vary from system to system, so refer to the owner's manual.

Note: Above information is for reference purpose only. You may need some additional equipment in certain areas.

Hot Bird
Deepam TV is available on Eutelsat Hotbird 4 Satellite which is positioned at 13° East. Hotbird 4's transponder provide coverage to extended community of Tamils living in Europe, Middle East and the Meditrainian costal part of North Africa.

From its state of the art studios in Hounslow West, United Kingdom, programmes are sent on digital 'Faculty Line' across London to BT Tower in the heart of London. On arrival the digital signal is routed, compressed and passed to an earth station at Madley in the west of England, the transmission then beamed over 22,000 miles to the Hotbird 4 Satellite located over the equator.
